The Devil Rides Out musical is written and composed by Colin McCourt and is based on the novel by Dennis Wheatley. An adventure/romance set in London in 1934, it tells the story of three friends fighting the powers of darkness to save the world. Hammer Films produced a movie of the story in 1968 starring Christopher Lee. Christopher actually phoned Colin for advice on who held the film rights as he wanted to remake the film. The musical was performed at Media City Manchester at Halloween to sold out audiences and received rave reviews from the Dennis Wheatley Appreciation Society. The top American horror magazine Little Shoppe Of Horrors said it could be the next Phantom Of The Opera and the American Library Of Congress said the music is a treasure in their collection and their favourite new musical.
